We developed concepts for a loft conversion to this end terrace property within the Calverley Bridge conversation area prior to pre-application discussions with the planning department.
This ‘upside down house’ has bedrooms on the ground floor with living space above but our proposals went one step further. The old lounge became a bedroom and the living room was relocated to the most exciting space in the house, the attic. A completely glazed end wall to the loft conversion would provide uninterrupted views of the Leeds Liverpool Canal.
Unfortunately, being in a conservation area the contemporary design was shunned for a less dramatic, traditional design with stone wall and small window, but we gained the planning permission.
